Resolving a Challenged Socialisation

Raising a Black child in these turbulent times in the beautiful land of Azania (South Africa) is fraught with five formidable challenges namely (1) the deep wound of father absence; (2) the economic distractions; (3) the default female socialisation; (4) the rising narcissistic phenomenon and (5) the nurturing of a child social attachment in an insecure environment. What are the ramifications of the challenges on the Black child? How do we transcend and overcome these formidable challenges? Join us via Zoom on Sunday May 23, 2021 as we unpack; resolve and plot a better way to overcome the adverse conditions that beset the Black child socialisation.

Event photo at the rendition of the lecture The African Calendar wherein forward thinking parents brought their children to drink from the fountain of knowledge at the South African State Theatre in Pretoria. These enterprising parents understand the value of passing the baton of knowledge to those coming after us. The event was organised by the National Writers Association of South Africa (thanks to NWASA’s Secretary General Dr. Lance Nawa for facilitating this event) wherein I delivered the public lecture on the African origin of time keeping. These are the results of positive thinking for the Black child.
