The Preamble
On Sunday July 28, 2019 I was interviewed by the powerful and very erudite Mosotho linguist and radio anchor Thabo Mokone of the SABC Lesedi FM show Ditheoha Dikalaneng. This is a show on interfaith. As a rare case and special feature, the show foregrounded African religiosity in two weeks in succession namely Sunday July 28, 2019 and Sunday August 4, 2019 at the SABC Auckland Park studios in Johannesburg.

Ditheoha Dikalaneng portion of the interfaith show is hosted at 5am on Sundays. On the two shows, I answered the question What Is African Religion? – Parts 1 and 2 respectively. I delivered What Is African Religion? – Part 1 on Sunday July 28, 2019 at 5am. The rendition on indigenous African spirituality was well received by the audience which resulted in the need for What Is African Religion? – Part 2 the following week at the same time of 5am.

What Is African Religion? – Part 2 was a continuation of Part 1 and was intended to give more time to the Lesedi FM listenership to ask questions and react to my rendition on the radio with respect to the metaphysics; the essence and relevance of African religion. The language used was Sesotho. I did make lexical and etymological references to other languages like isiZulu; isiXhosa; Latin and English but the language of discourse was Sesotho.
What Is African Religion?
Africans boast the oldest religious texts; calendars and astronomical observatories on the planet as confirmed by The Papyrus of Ani; The Ishango Bone; The Lebombo Bone and The Blombos Cave; Nomoratunga of Kenya and numerous archeological discoveries. The organised religions of Christianity; Jewdaism and Islam were inspired by the original African religious texts. Notwithstanding, these religions never give credit to the African genesis of religiosity. The copy cannot be better than the original. It is incumbent upon the original to rise from the ashes like the Phoenix. The African Native must return to the authentic original.
Moreover, the oldest language was invented by the African Natives long before the African exodus and long before the Jewish exodus from Kemet (Egypt).
